So my parents are in town and we headed to the park to enjoy the beautiful day we had here in Georgia.
Wish I had my camera with me but I had the next best thing… My handy dandy IPhone!

I wanted to post on this Natural Beauty because of a number of reasons! One: She is taking the modeling industry by storm because of her natural way of being in front of the camera. Two: Because of my love for photography, editorials and natural beauty: I LOVE EVERY IMAGE she creates. Three: She is the true definition of a small town girl making her dreams come true. Four: I am proud to say I know and went to high school with her.
Wakeema Hollis, also known as just, “Hollis” came from Tennessee and now travels around the world creating beautiful art on print as well as on the runways! She is a model for Ford Models in Paris, France and has landed magazine covers for magazines such as “Luire” in Japan and has ripped the runway for awesome designers such as Diane Von Frustenburg, Marc Jacobs and more!!
I absolutely LOVE all the editorials she has graced us with and I wanted to share some of my favorites! Enjoy!
THIS HAS GIVEN ME SOME SERIOUS EDITORIAL INSPIRATIONS!
This past weekend I pretty much stayed in with my boys because we all have been a family with “coodies” as little kids would describe someone being sick. LOL! Well, me and my two little ones have been fighting off colds all week long. JR and AJ are gradually getting over theirs and mine is in bit of a slump still and I can’t seem to go 2 minutes without coughing. The hubby has not received our gift so far..he has tried to stay away from us in order not to get it..I’m guessing he will be getting it in a day or two…BUT let’s cross our fingers that he doesn’t because this is his BIG week in turning 30 years old!!!! Woop Woop!!! Love him!
Anywho, here are a few pics I took while being quarantined in the house! Enjoy! Hope you all had a great weekend! Make it a great week!
June Ambrose is one of my favorite fashion stylists that I think was just born with an eye for style! I have been watching her show and the way she takes a individual and transforms their look to market their brand is amazing! On one of her episodes her objective was to transform Miami’s own recording artist Trina‘s image from hard-sexy to HAUTE-COUTURE! She did just that! Trina looks like a TOTALLY different person! I think she should definitely stick with this new look.
Trina was “Styled By June” for her editorial shoot in Paper Magazine. The photographer that shot Trina was Ron Contarsy! I don’t think the photographer got much credit but he is awesome! He is known for his work in fashion editorials and advertising. Within this photo series of fashion art he adds abstract features from city buildings to bring out a more modern/futuristic look. You can view more of his work at: www.roncontarsy.com. The final images of Trina were amazing! With her new look and his eye through the lens, the result was GORGEOUS! The setting was amazing, the retouching and enhancing of the image…I ABSOLUTELY LOVE! There is no need to continue to describe..just check out the photos!
I have grown to have a strong love for black and white art form. This type of art I feel allows the viewer to create their own perception of the image. It creates a sense of definition to the portrait and brings out the emotion being portrayed more so at times than an image of color can do. The beauty of photography is that you are able to visualize and create your own story of an image. Some may look at an image and see despair or sadness while others may see desire or passion. Here are a couple of black & whites from my portfolio that I would like to share.
What is your perception?
Yesterday I conducted a shoot for Author Candra Ward who’s book entitled “In My Mind”
I get to the shoot location to start…I’m setting up and
One thing that I absolutely LOVE about her is that she is so down-to-earth and loves life and has fun just like anyone of us! Here is one of her being silly taking a photo.
